Project Accountant

Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring they align with financial goals.
Monitor project costs, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cash flow, cost analysis, and profitability summaries.
Maintain detailed records of project expenses, revenues, and forecasts.
Prepare, submit, and track client invoices and ensure timely payments.
Verify and process subcontractor and supplier invoices in compliance with contracts.
Collaborate with project teams to adjust budgets and forecasts based on project needs.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Monitor project cash flow and manage financial risks to ensure uninterrupted execution.
Support project managers with financial insights for decision-making.
Conduct financial audits and resolve any discrepancies.
Review project contracts to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.
Maintain and update financial systems to ensure accuracy in reporting and tracking.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–9 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and MS Excel. etc)
Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
